GoogleTalk IMPS, Gtalk IMPS, Jabber IMPS Gateway, XMPP IMPS Gateway

GoogleTalk-Gtalk Messenger and Jabber-XMPP Messenger External Connectivty is offered as a stand alone option via MobJab.in IMPS Server. MobJab.In IMPS Gateway is a Jabber to IMPS Gateway and a XMPP to IMPS Gateway.

That means if you want to use AOL Instant Messenger - AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Instant Messenger - YIM and ICQ Messenger from your Mobile Handset then you need to connect via MobJab.mobi IMPS Server.

Features of MobJab IMPS Gateway on MobJab.in IMPS Server:

1. IMPS version 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 is supported by MobJab.in IMPS Server. SonyEricsson A200 platform phones like w910i, K850i, Z750a are some of the mobile handsets which have 1.3 version of Wireless Village Protocol.

2. Register for your MobJab account if you dont have one. Then You need to login to your IMPS client with your MobJab account in the following manner:

Server/Homepage/URL: http://mobjab.in

User ID : username of your MobJab account (format is UserName@mobjab.in strictly)

Password: password of your MobJab account

3. Create a Contact List If the IMPS client doesnt have one. Remember that Contacts cannot be added unless you have atleast one Contact List. If by any chance you are not able to create a Contact Lists try adding a Gtalk/XMPP user and you would be prompted to create a Contact Lists before adding the user.

4. Once logged in just add Gtalk-Jabber-XMPP users as contacts. For example you need to add UserName@Gmail.com or UserName@jabber.org to your contact list. The Gtalk-Jabber-XMPP will get a authorisation message asking them to add UserName@mobjab.in to their buddy/contact list.

Also Gtalk-Jabber-XMPP users can add you on their contact list by adding your UserName@mobjab.in. Note that You wont get a authorisation message asking you to add the Gtalk-Jabber-XMPP. You need to add the Gtalk-Jabber-XMPP user as UserName@Gmail.com or UserName@jabber.org to your contact list manually.

In short both UserName@mobjab.in and Gtalk-Jabber-XMPP use need to add each other if you want to be subscribed to each others presence/status.

5. Web Client and Email2Mobile Feature Doesnt work with MobJab.in IMPS Server.

6. You can send Images/Pictures via the IMPS client if supported by your mobile handset. In the chat option click on "Send Image" and select the appropriate image to be sent. If you are sending the Pictures/Images/MMS to a Gtalk/XMPP User connected via PC then they would get a link to view/download the Pictures/Images/MMS.

Do remember that Fetching External IM buddy list is a phone memory/processor intensive process. For example SonyEricsson mobile handsets do not login to MobJab IMPS Gateway if there are more than 50 contacts.

MobJab IMPS Gateway doesnt limit the number of contact entries on the connecting IMPS client.
